Key Responsibilities
As a welder at Jenza Metals Ltd., you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications and understanding technical requirements. Your duties will include operating manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment to fabricate and repair metal parts and products.
Technical Duties
Your technical responsibilities will include reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes. You will examine welds to ensure they meet all applicable standards and specifications, maintaining our high-quality production standards.
Equipment Operation
You will be trained to operate various types of welding and metalworking equipment, including manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines. Proficiency with oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) is also required.
Metal Fabrication
The position involves fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal components to precise specifications. You will also operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal according to project requirements.
Quality Control
Maintaining quality standards is a critical aspect of this role. You will be responsible for determining the weldability of materials and ensuring that all completed work meets the technical specifications outlined in blueprints and project requirements.
Equipment Maintenance
Additionally, you will perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize production downtime. This preventive maintenance approach is essential to our operational efficiency.
