The Practical Engineer will support production, fabrication, assembly, and technical operations within the power armour manufacturing facility.
The role requires strong hands-on technical ability, the capacity to interpret engineering drawings, and a clear understanding of quality assurance standards to ensure products are manufactured according to specification and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Production Support:
Assist in fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and structural components.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Carry out measurements, fitting, alignment, and adjustment of components during production.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical and production-related issues.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure all assigned tasks comply with approved quality assurance procedures and standards.
Conduct basic inspections and checks on completed work to ensure accuracy and conformity to specifications.
Identify defects, non-conformities, or deviations and report them promptly.
Maintain proper documentation of technical and production activities.
Equipment & Workshop Operations:
Operate engineering tools, workshop equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently.
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, technicians, quality assurance personnel, and production teams.
Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute to achieving production targets.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Health & Safety:
Comply strictly with company HSE policies and safety regulations.
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain a safe working environment and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Requirements & Qualifications
OND/HND or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fabrication, Industrial Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 2–5 years’ practical engineering experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial operations.
Good technical and hands-on engineering skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Basic understanding of quality assurance and inspection requirements.
Good understanding and communication in English language.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
