Salary and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary of £52,532 to £78,798 per annum (pro rata), which is paid according to the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff pay scheme. Main Duties of the Job
The main role of the Dental Officer is to provide routine dental care to patients referred to or accessing the Dental Service. Key responsibilities include providing dental care to patients with specific requirements using behavioural techniques, conscious sedation, or general anaesthesia (within competencies); liaising with social and healthcare personnel to ensure effective management and delivery of care; participating in the delivery of domiciliary dental services; delivering care in various locations within Carlisle & Eden; and providing emergency and urgent care through the Dental Direct triage process as required.

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) or equivalent qualification, have obtained FD (Foundation Dentistry) or equivalent proved, possess an NHSE Performer List number, and be registered with the General Dental Council as a Dentist. These qualifications are mandatory for practising dentistry in the UK and must be current and in good standing.
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, having post-graduate competency demonstrated or qualification obtained in sedation is considered advantageous for this role. Candidates with additional qualifications in areas relevant to special care dentistry will be viewed favourably during the selection process.
Essential Experience
Applicants must have at least one year of post-graduate clinical activity to be eligible for this position. This experience should demonstrate practical application of dental skills and knowledge in a clinical setting, working directly with patients.

The successful candidate should have knowledge of the structure of local NHS Dental services, the legislative framework governing the delivery of oral health care in England, and Basic Life Support certification.
