Job Overview
We are looking for experienced Pressure Vessel Welders to join our team at our Mississauga facility. This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive hourly wages ranging from $27.00 to $36.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The position is located at our facility situated at 1700 Bonhill Rd., Mississauga, ON L5T 1C8. The work is performed on-site, requiring your physical presence at our manufacturing facility. Employment Terms
This is a permanent, full-time employment position with a standard work week of 40 hours. The schedule primarily consists of day shifts with flexible hours available. Overtime is required and available, providing additional earning potential for motivated candidates who wish to increase their income through extra work hours.
Required Experience and Skills
Candidates for this position must possess extensive experience in pressure vessel welding, with particular expertise in stainless steel welding applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes, as well as familiarity with gas welding machinery. Experience working with pressure vessels is essential, as this forms the core of the daily responsibilities.
Welding Expertise
Our pressure vessel welders must demonstrate proficiency in various welding techniques and materials. The successful candidate will need to interpret welding process specifications accurately and apply them to different projects. This includes knowledge of different weld types, proper electrode selection, and understanding heat treatment requirements for various metals.
Blueprint Reading and Interpretation
A critical aspect of this role is the ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and technical processes. Candidates must be able to translate two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional welded components with precision and accuracy. This skill ensures that all fabricated components meet the exact specifications required for pressure vessel applications.
Quality Assurance
Our welders are responsible for examining completed welds thoroughly to ensure they meet all applicable standards and specifications. This includes visual inspection, dimensional verification, and understanding non-destructive testing methods. The ability to identify potential defects and take corrective action is essential for maintaining our high-quality standards.
Material Analysis
Successful candidates must be able to determine the weldability of various materials, including different grades of stainless steel and other alloys. This requires understanding the metallurgical properties of materials and how they respond to different welding processes and heat inputs.
Equipment Operation
This role involves operating both manual and semi-automatic welding equipment, as well as fully automated welding systems when required. Additionally, welders will need to operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely to position heavy materials and components for welding operations.
Responsibilities
The Pressure Vessel Welder will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and products using previously set-up welding machines. This includes preparing materials for welding, setting up equipment according to specifications, performing welding operations, and conducting post-weld activities such as grinding and finishing.
