Job Summary
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist for our Early Intervention Psychosis team across Cumbria. Full-time (10PA) post providing medical expertise to East Adult Community Treatment and EIP teams at Portland House, Carlisle.
Key Responsibilities
Provide senior clinical expertise in assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental health problems and at-risk mental states. Participate in engagement, assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of patients referred to the EIP team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential: MBBS (or equivalent), GMC registration (or eligibility), GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry (or within 6 months), Section 12 approval eligibility, Approved Clinician status (achievable within 3 months).
Knowledge
Essential: Up-to-date psychiatry knowledge, awareness of current service provision, mental health policy and legislation. Desirable: Demonstrated special interest through publications or presentations.
Experience
Essential: Multidisciplinary team experience, wide clinical experience in general adult psychiatry across settings, clinical audit experience. Desirable: Multi-agency work and service management experience.
Skills
Essential: High clinical competence, excellent communication, time efficiency, teaching skills. Desirable: Established clinical teaching ability, leadership experience, training in specific therapeutic approaches.

Self-sustainability, trustworthiness, maturity, flexibility, clear communication, mobility, punctuality, honesty, integrity, and strong organizational abilities.
Salary and Contract
£109,725 to £145,478 per year (pro rata for part-time) under permanent contract with flexible working arrangements. Consultant grade within Hospital Medical and Dental Staff pay scheme.
