Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Mechanic to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth. 40 to 45 hours per week, with day shifts, on-call requirements, and overtime opportunities available

Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Mechanic at NTE, you will be responsible for:
Equipment Testing and Observation
You will test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of various types of equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
Troubleshooting and Repair
You will troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment. This involves diagnosing issues, determining the root cause, and implementing effective repair solutions.
Fabrication and Reconditioning
Using machining tools, you will fabricate new parts and recondition worn components to extend the life of electrical equipment. This requires precision and attention to detail.
Component Replacement
You will replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other critical components to maintain equipment functionality and safety standards.
Apprentice Instruction
Experienced candidates will have the opportunity to instruct apprentices, sharing their knowledge and skills to develop the next generation of electrical mechanics.
Equipment Balancing
You will perform static and dynamic balancing of armatures and rotors to ensure smooth operation and prevent premature wear on equipment.
On-site Services
The position requires performing on-site servicing and repair, meaning you will work directly at client locations to address electrical and mechanical issues.
Wiring and Component Repair
You will test and repair or replace faulty wiring and components in electrical switchgear, ensuring all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
Quality Assurance
After repairs, you will test all repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance and compliance with safety standards.
