Job Details
This is a permanent, full-time position for an orthodontic hygienist, working 34 hours per week with a competitive hourly salary ranging from $35.00 to $55.00 CAD (to be negotiated based on experience and qualifications). The position is based at our Longueuil, QC location (J4L 4S1) and requires on-site work. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible, with one vacancy currently available.

Key Responsibilities
As an orthodontic hygienist with 123Dentist Inc., your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings and examinations for orthodontic patients, applying preventive materials such as fluorides and sealants, taking and developing dental x-rays, educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, and assisting the orthodontist during various procedures. You will also maintain patient records, sterilize dental instruments, and ensure the treatment area is properly prepared for each patient.
Clinical Duties
Your clinical responsibilities will focus on providing specialized care to orthodontic patients. This includes removing plaque and tartar buildup, polishing teeth, and applying orthodontic-specific treatments. You will also monitor patients’ oral health progress, take impressions and models as needed, and assist with orthodontic appliance adjustments.
Patient Education
A significant aspect of this role involves educating patients about proper oral hygiene, especially for those with braces or other orthodontic appliances. You will instruct patients on effective brushing and flossing techniques, demonstrate the use of interdental brushes and other orthodontic cleaning tools, and provide guidance on maintaining oral health throughout their orthodontic treatment journey.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a valid dental hygiene license in the province of Quebec or be eligible for licensure.
