Position Details
The Specialist Pharmacist Community Services position is offered on a permanent basis with flexible working patterns including full-time and part-time options. The salary range is £47,810 to £54,710 per annum, pro rata, based on the Agenda for change pay scheme at Band 7 level. The role involves working up to 37.5 hours per week across community hospital sites in West Cumbria.

Main Responsibilities
As a Specialist Pharmacist Community Services, you will deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients, working collaboratively with Medicines Management Technicians and Pharmacists. You’ll need excellent communication and organisational skills along with a strong team spirit. The role requires the ability to work independently, though you’ll receive support from experienced pharmacists and medicines management technicians.

Working Schedule

Essential requirements include broad clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge, relevant specialist knowledge, and demonstrable understanding of current issues within pharmacy and the NHS. You must be able to show evidence of continuing professional development through a portfolio and be computer literate. Experience with spreadsheet and database packages is desirable for this role.

Essential requirements include the ability to travel between sites as needed, participation in Trust-wide out-of-hours on-call services, and ability to work on a 7-day rota. A driving licence is desirable for this role to facilitate travel between sites.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, requiring a submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for previous criminal convictions. The cost of the DBS check will be met through salary deduction: Standard Check £27.40 or Enhanced Check £55.40, either deducted over 4 months or as a one-off payment.
