About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Lavender Ward, located at Springfield Hospital in London. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum, plus London Zone Allowance.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this position with sponsorship, candidates must have a Primary Medical degree and full GMC registration. You must be included on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible for such inclusion within three months of completing your CCT.
Mental Health Act Requirements
Applicants must hold Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act and have Approved Clinician (AC) status. These are mandatory requirements for this position and will be verified during the application process.
Training and Experience
Candidates must have completed a minimum of three years of full-time training in an approved higher psychiatric training scheme. A detailed knowledge of main treatment approaches for severe mental illness, including psychopharmacological interventions, is essential.
Desired Qualifications
While not mandatory, holding MRCPsych or equivalent qualification is highly desirable. Additional qualifications in talking therapies such as CBT, DBT, or MBT, as well as experience in change management and service development, will strengthen your application.
Professional Development
The Trust is committed to continuing professional development and requires all consultants to engage in regular CPD activities. You will be expected to join a Peer Group to gain approval for your professional development activities.
Teaching Responsibilities
Experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate psychiatry is essential for this role. You will be responsible for supervising junior medical staff and contributing to the academic program of the Trust.
Clinical Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, administrative duties, and record keeping. You will work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team, promoting informed risk-taking and anti-discriminatory practice.

Lavender Ward is located at Springfield Hospital in Tooting, London SW17. The ward was recently relocated as part of the Trust’s estates modernization plan and is undergoing extensive refurbishment to provide state-of-the-art facilities for patients and staff.
