Job Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the CAMHS Learning Disability Service in Suffolk. The post is split between the Autism Diagnostic Youth Service for Suffolk (ADYSS) and the under 18 ADHD service, providing specialist psychiatric input to both teams and supporting closer working within the under 18 neurodevelopmental disorders pathway.

Main Duties of the Job
The Autism Diagnostic Youth Service for Suffolk (ADYSS) provides full diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorder for 11- to 18-year-olds whose GP is based in Suffolk (excluding Waveney). The under 18 ADHD service provides assessment for ADHD for under 18s and prescribes ADHD medication where appropriate, along with providing medical monitoring and follow-up.
Role Distribution
This post is split between these two teams. The successful candidate will provide specialist consultant input to both teams, supporting closer working within the entire under 18 neurodevelopmental disorders pathway. Specifically, the role will be 0.3 WTE for the ADYSS team and 0.5 WTE for the under 18 ADHD team.

Qualifications Required
Essential qualifications include entry on the GMC Register, approved clinician status, Section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act (MHA), and being on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST. Candidates must also demonstrate a clear understanding of Clinical Governance and a commitment to open review of practice.
Experience Required
Candidates must have 3 years or equivalent medical experience, with 6 months experience in a relevant clinical area. Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex mental illness is essential. Additionally, candidates should have effective team working skills, leadership qualities, flexibility, and a valid driving licence or ability to travel independently.
Teaching and Research
The trust values teaching and research experience, with requirements including experience of supervising junior medical staff and teaching/presentation skills. There is access and encouragement to partake in research within a well-established research network, and support for Quality Improvement, Audit, and Service development activities.
Criminal Record Requirements
