Position Details
The post will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary but working as an integrated service covering West Cumberland Hospital. The successful applicant will complement our team of existing haematologists and nurses, together providing level 2A Clinical Haematology care for NCIC patients. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Full registration (and with a current licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- FRCPath (Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists) or equivalent
- MRCP or equivalent
- CCT or CESR
- Clinical training and experience in the relevant specialty, equivalent to that required to gain entry to the UK Certificate of Completed Training (CCT) in Pathology
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:
- APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support)
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- Inter-hospital transfer training
Essential Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
- High standard of clinical skill and expertise in Pathology
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
- Experience of, and commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
- Experience of audit management
- Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of Clinical Haematology service
- Ability to cover on call
