About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mental health practitioner within the Core CAHMS and PMHW/Duty CAHMS to join a well-established, dedicated, and friendly team across Bradford, Aire Wharfe Craven CAHMS. There are two full-time Band 6 positions available – one within Core CAHMS and one within the PMHW/Duty Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and providing mental health services to children and young people, including assessment, planning, and delivering short-term care packages. This role operates within a multidisciplinary team, offering specialist support, consultation, and training to staff and other agencies.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, implementing care plans, maintaining therapeutic relationships, and ensuring the safety of children at risk. The position requires effective communication with children, families, and professionals, adapting approaches based on individual needs and circumstances.
The worker will also contribute to policy formulation, service improvement, and performance monitoring, while promoting user involvement in care planning. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with mental health needs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- Occupational therapist, Social worker, RMN or Psychologist
- Current registration
Desirable:
- ENB 998 or equivalent
Experience
Essential:
- 2 years Post qualification experience within a mental health setting
Desirable:
- Experience of child and adolescent mental health nursing
Knowledge
Essential:
- Knowledge and understanding of contemporary mental health nursing practice
- Knowledge of Child Protection issues
- Assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care to individuals and their families/carers
Desirable:
- Understanding of family dynamics and systemic approaches
