FL,, Joe DiMaggio Children?s Hospital is seeking a motivated and dynamic Pediatric Psychologist to join its growing Psychology Department in a per diem (staff relief) capacity. Opportunities are available for candidates with experience in inpatient consultation-liaison work with pediatric patients and their families in an acute pediatric medical environment. Typical inpatient consult referrals include acute and chronic pain, conversion symptoms, GI complaints, psychogenic events, feeding/eating issues, trauma, adjustment to new medical diagnoses, depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, ingestion/suicide attempts, and end of life issues. Responsibilities include: ? Assessment and ongoing treatment of patients throughout their inpatient hospital stay. ? Collaborating with treatment team members to formulate clinical intervention and referring patients to other disciplines for consult and evaluation as indicated. ? Providing support and education to the patient?s family. ? Providing psychological expertise and education to a multidisciplinary team of professionals. ? Acting as a resource to other disciplines on patient and behavioral problems related to various psychological disorders. ? Developing and providing education to both hospital staff and to the community when available. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA-accredited program and be licensed (or license eligible) in the state of Florida. Completion of an APA-accredited internship and fellowship in pediatric psychology is desired. Work schedule is variable to meet the staff relief needs of the department with a desire for coverage at minimum on Mondays.
