Job Overview
Our veterinary clinic is located in Edmonton, Alberta at address T6J 5V3. This is an on-site position requiring full-time commitment with flexible scheduling that may include mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and shifts with overtime opportunities available. Key Responsibilities
As a veterinarian with CENTURY PARK VETERINARY SERVICES INC, you will be responsible for diagnosing diseases and abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests. You’ll treat sick or injured animals by prescribing appropriate medications, setting bones, dressing wounds, and performing necessary surgeries.
Animal Care and Treatment
Your duties will include vaccinating animals to prevent and treat various diseases, as well as providing expert advice to clients regarding feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of their animals. You’ll perform routine examinations, emergency care, and post-mortem examinations as needed to ensure the highest standard of veterinary care.
Specialized Veterinary Services
We expect our veterinarians to provide a comprehensive range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia when necessary. These specialized services require precision, compassion, and a thorough understanding of animal welfare and medical procedures.
Team Leadership
In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers, typically managing 1 to 2 team members. This leadership role includes training, mentoring, and ensuring that all team members maintain high standards of care and professionalism in their daily responsibilities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold certification from the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and possess licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. These professional credentials are mandatory to practice veterinary medicine in Alberta and throughout Canada.
