Job Overview

Compensation and Schedule
Server positions at Nomi Resort offer competitive hourly wages ranging from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, with compensation subject to negotiation based on experience and qualifications. The position involves working 30 to 38 hours per week across morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
Employment Terms
This is a permanent employment position that begins on a part-time basis with the opportunity to transition to full-time employment as performance and business needs dictate. The position is available to start as soon as possible.

Education Requirements
Candidates must hold a Food and Beverage Server Trade Certificate. Additionally, certification in Smart Serve (alcohol service certification), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Food and Beverage Server Training, and Food Safety are mandatory requirements for this role.
Experience Requirements
Previous experience operating a point of sale (POS) system is required. While not explicitly stated, prior experience in food and beverage service, particularly in a resort or fine dining environment, would be considered an asset.
Legal Requirements
Applicants must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages in Ontario. This is a non-negotiable requirement due to the nature of the position.
Key Responsibilities
As a Server at Nomi Resort, your responsibilities will include:
Customer Service Excellence
Providing exceptional customer service to all guests is at the core of this role. You will greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages. You will also assist clients and guests with special needs to ensure their dining experience is enjoyable and memorable.
Order Processing
Taking accurate orders from guests and relaying them efficiently to kitchen and bar staff is a critical responsibility. You must ensure orders are processed correctly and in a timely manner to maintain guest satisfaction.
Food and Beverage Service
Serving food and beverages to guests according to established standards and procedures. This includes preparing and serving specialty food at customers’ tables, ensuring presentation meets resort quality standards.
Menu Knowledge
Developing thorough knowledge of the menu, including daily specials, ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. You will be expected to describe menu items to customers and provide recommendations based on their preferences and dietary needs.
Alcohol Service Compliance
Enforcing provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations when serving alcoholic beverages. This includes checking identification, refusing service to intoxicated persons, and ensuring responsible alcohol service practices are followed at all times.
Payment Processing
Presenting bills to customers and accepting payment in various forms including cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques, or room billings. You will be responsible for accurately balancing cash and recording sales at the end of each shift.
Wine Expertise
Providing knowledgeable descriptions and recommendations regarding wine selections. This may include describing different varietals, regions, food pairings, and serving temperatures to enhance the guest experience.
Complaint Resolution
Addressing customers’ complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner. You will work to resolve issues to the guest’s satisfaction while maintaining resort standards and policies.
Table Maintenance
Maintaining clean and orderly dining areas by clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs between guests. Ensuring the dining environment meets cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.
