Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join our engineering team in Sherbrooke. Employment Details
This is a permanent, full-time position with the flexibility of hybrid work arrangements. The standard schedule is 40 hours per week, though we offer flexibility to accommodate work-life balance. Key Responsibilities
As an EMC Engineer at Nord Quantique, you’ll be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, design operations, and performance research of electrical generation and distribution networks. You’ll design electrical and electronic components, systems, and equipment while ensuring optimal electromagnetic compatibility. Your role will involve investigating electrical or electronic failures and implementing effective solutions to maintain product quality and reliability.
Technical Expertise
You’ll conduct micro and nanodevices simulations, characterization, process modeling, and integration in the development of new electronic devices and products. This includes commissioning systems and components, as well as setting up and operating specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems.
Problem-Solving and Innovation
Your responsibilities will include resolving work problems, providing technical advice, and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality. You’ll propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures, as well as realize modeling and simulation exercises on computerized units. Additionally, you’ll develop manufacturing and processing procedures and conduct design verification simulations and prototype bench tests of components.
Project Management
As part of your role, you’ll develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and ensure project milestones are met. This includes project planning, quality assurance and control, and specification or technical writing. Your ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail will be crucial to your success in this position.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electromagnetic compatibility, with demonstrated experience in ANASYS, computer programming, and Python. You should have expertise in analysis, design, project planning, quality assurance or control, research and development, and specification or technical writing. Experience in testing and evaluation, system integration, and electrical or electronics (industrial) is essential.
Technical Skills Required
We’re looking for candidates with experience in data processing and systems, computer design, scientific or medical electronics, and process design or development. Your knowledge of electromagnetic principles and semiconductor applications should be comprehensive, allowing you to address complex technical challenges. Experience with micro or nanodevices simulations and characterization will be particularly valuable in this role.
