Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the appropriate driver’s licenses required for operating dump trucks in Ontario. Specifically, we require candidates with either an AZ class license or a DZ class license. These certifications demonstrate your qualification to operate commercial vehicles in various configurations.
Experience Requirements
Successful candidates should have experience in handling various documentation procedures related to trucking operations. This includes familiarity with accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbooks, and inspection reports covering pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip procedures.
Technical Skills
Applicants should be proficient in maintaining and repairing truck components, including preparing maintenance and repair reports. Experience with trans-border documentation and trip reports is essential for drivers who will be transporting goods across international routes. Additionally, familiarity with GPS systems and other navigation equipment is required for efficient route planning and execution.
Driving Experience
Our ideal candidates have experience in both local and short-haul driving operations. This includes the ability to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when necessary, as well as operating lighter, special purpose trucks. Experience with mountain driving is highly valued, as it demonstrates adaptability to various challenging road conditions.
Responsibilities: Vehicle Operation
As a Dump Truck Driver, your primary responsibility will be to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for overseeing the condition of your vehicle, including inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other essential equipment to ensure roadworthiness.
Responsibilities: Safety and Maintenance
You will perform comprehensive pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, documenting all aspects of vehicle condition. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and preventive maintenance as needed to keep your vehicle in optimal operating condition.

Proper cargo handling is a critical aspect of this position. You will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, tarping to ensure the safety and security of cargo, and accurately recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption for reporting purposes.

You will need to obtain special permits and other documents required for transporting cargo on international routes, trans-border documentation, and prepare trip reports. You will also receive and relay information to central dispatch to coordinate operations effectively.

Professionalism in customer service is a key expectation for all our drivers. You will be responsible for addressing customers’ complaints or concerns with courtesy and efficiency. Additionally, you may be required to arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations as part of providing comprehensive service to clients.
