The position offers flexible scheduling including early morning shifts, daytime hours, weekend work, and on-call shifts. This variety allows for work-life balance while meeting the operational needs of our kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cook at Oxen International Ltd, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods. Your duties will include preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
Food Preparation
You will wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, and use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs. Maintaining food quality and presentation standards is essential in this role.
Kitchen Management
The Cook position involves managing kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and helpers. You will train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Inventory and Equipment
You will maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment. This includes receiving, unpacking, and storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas. Proper storage and organization are critical for efficient kitchen operations.
Cleaning and Sanitation
Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen is a vital part of this role. You will clean kitchen and work areas, handle and store cleaning products properly, and maintain a clean and safe environment for food preparation.
Additional Duties
Additional responsibilities include sharpening kitchen knives, portioning and wrapping foods, packaging take-out food, and placing dishes in storage areas. Attention to detail in all tasks is essential to maintain our high standards.
