Job Overview
We are seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join our growing team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. This position is based at our facility in Burlington, Ontario (L7L 0G4). Work Schedule
This full-time position requires flexibility with shifts, including morning, day, evening, and night shifts. Overtime opportunities are available, and the work week typically ranges from 40 to 60 hours. The position starts as soon as possible, allowing new hires to begin their career with ABS Machining Inc. without delay.
Compensation
We offer a competitive hourly wage ranging from $34.00 to $40.00 per hour, with the final rate subject to negotiation based on experience, qualifications, and specific skills. This compensation package reflects the importance of this role and the high level of expertise required for success in position.
Key Responsibilities
As a CNC Machinist at ABS Machining Inc., you will be responsible for computing dimensions and tolerances of machine parts, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. You will set up and adjust production machineries and tools, fitting and assembling components and machine parts to close tolerance. Maintaining, repairing and calibrating precision measuring instruments is also a critical part of your role.
Duties Include:
• Documenting and reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances
• Maintaining inspection records and completing inspection reports
• Verifying dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
• Setting up and operating both conventional and computer-controlled machine tools
• Ensuring products meet accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
• Collaborating with engineering and quality control teams
Required Skills and Experience
Qualified candidates should have experience working with micrometers, callipers, gauges, and verniers. Proficiency in operating boring machines, milling machines, and planers is essential. Most importantly, candidates must demonstrate experience using computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Previous experience in a precision machining environment is highly desirable.
Education Requirements
While specific formal education requirements are not specified, candidates with a certificate or diploma in machining technology, manufacturing engineering, or a related field will have a competitive advantage. Equivalent practical experience combined with technical knowledge may also be considered for this position.
