The Welder is responsible for performing welding operations on vehicle components and metal structures to support automobile production and assembly. The role ensures that all welding activities meet required quality standards, engineering specifications, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Welding Operations
Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, ARC, or gas welding techniques as required.
Join metal parts and components in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
Inspect welded joints to ensure strength, alignment, and quality.
Production Support
Support fabrication and assembly processes within the production line.
Assist in repair and modification of vehicle bodies, frames, and metal structures.
Work with other technicians and engineers to achieve production targets.
Quality Control
Ensure all welds meet company quality standards and specifications.
Identify and correct welding defects or irregularities.
Maintain accuracy in measurements and alignment.
Equipment Maintenance
Operate and maintain welding machines and tools.
Ensure proper storage and handling of welding equipment and materials.
Report faults or equipment issues promptly.
Health, Safety & Environment
Comply with all company HSE policies and safety procedures.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum of SSCE / Trade Test Certificate in Welding.
2–5 years’ practical experience as a Welder, preferably in an automobile or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, ARC, and gas welding techniques.
Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
Good knowledge of welding tools, materials, and safety practices.
Physical fitness and ability to work in a production environment.
Attention to detail and good teamwork skills.
