We are currently seeking to employ a suitably qualified Records Officer, responsible for accurately collecting new patients’ information and uploading on the EMR as well as properly filing hard copy of the information.
Maintaining quality and accurate records by following hospital procedures.
Responsibilities
The Records officer is responsible for gathering patient demographic and personal information and imputing same on the EMR.
Reviews patients' records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
Posting of patients’ file/folder to the appropriate department of care assessment
Manages the generation, preservation, and retrieval of medical records whenever they are needed
Ensures elaborate and accurate medical records are available at all times.
Compiles monthly medical statistical reports for statutory and reporting purposes.
Ensuring that all medical records are protected and kept confidential
He/she must ensure that every patient that sees the doctor or receives any other treatments is billed appropriately and that the payment is made to the cashier.
Ensures that bills sent out are correct and corresponds with the treatment given and received by the patient.
Ensures that every HMO patient whose platform is not covered for the required treatment is treated as either a private patient and/or get adequate code from the company before commencement of treatment.
Any other duty as may be officially assigned.
Qualifications
Candidate must possess an HND / B.sc qualification in Medical Records from a recognized institution.
HMO Experience is required.
Valid practicing license from the relevant body is mandatory.
