We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Lubricant Accountant to manage inventory accounting and control across our locations.
The ideal candidate will ensure accurate stock reporting, cost tracking, and alignment between physical inventory and ERP records to support operational efficiency and sound financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of bulk and packed lubricant inventory across all locations.
Record and reconcile all stock movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
Perform daily reconciliation between physical stock and ERP balances, resolving variances promptly.
Manage inventory by SKU, grade, batch, and pack size, including monitoring slow-moving or obsolete stock.
Verify all goods receipt and dispatch documentation for accuracy.
Post all inventory transactions in the ERP system and maintain data integrity.
Ensure inventory valuation aligns with FIFO principles and track associated costs.
Monitor product margins and support pricing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Coordinate periodic stock counts and prepare variance reports.
Monitor and control stock losses, ensuring compliance with approved thresholds.
Prepare regular inventory and performance reports.
Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Production teams.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audit processes.
Qualifications & Experience
BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or FMCG
Strong experience in inventory accounting and reconciliation
Knowledge of product costing and margin analysis
Experience working with ERP systems
A professional qualification (ACA/ACCA) is an added advantage
Cost accounting experience is an added advantage.
