Business Development / Sales Manager at Mama Cass
In late 1981 Charis Onabowale the Group Managing Director turned what was a gift into the billion naira company that now bears the registered name Mama Cass Restaurant Limited. The gift was a small shop at Alade market in Allen where she sold pastries in a small storage box to workers and other shop owners while she was still employed.
She noticed how the white collared workers would stop at the buka women along the road sides, sling their ties over their shoulder and enjoy some home cooked traditional food. This is how the Mama Cass as you know started, she realised that there was a need for home cooked food in a cleaner environment, which had to be served fast and fresh.
In November 1983 she got her first restaurant space on Allen which even included dancing in those days, that first outlet carried for the first time "Mama Cass Cafeteria".
Today, there are Mama Cass Restaurant outlets strategically placed throughout Lagos, Ogun, Edo, Abuja and the United Kingdom, Serving quality food as we did when it was cooked in our home kitchen.
In addition, the group has expanded into industrial canteen management, private function catering and the high volume bread industry.Job Summary
We are a fast-growing restaurant group with multiple brands, including QSR outlets, event catering, pastry products, and fine dining experiences.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development / Sales Manager to drive revenue growth across all business units.
In this role, you will generate new clients, secure partnerships, and manage key accounts for all brands while aligning sales and marketing strategies to achieve group-wide business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive business development and sales strategies to drive revenue growth across all business units, including QSR outlets, fine dining, event catering, and pastry brands.
Identify, pursue, and secure new clients, strategic partnerships, and bulk buyers to expand market reach and increase sales.
Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and institutional buyers to maximize repeat business and client retention.
Lead the preparation and presentation of tailored proposals, pitches, and sales materials to effectively close deals across different customer segments.
Oversee, track, and analyze sales performance across all channels: in-store, online, events, bulk orders, and implement measures to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Collaborate closely with marketing and brand teams to develop campaigns that directly support sales goals and drive customer acquisition.
Conduct market research, monitor industry trends, analyze competitor activity, and adjust strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Contribute to pricing, promotional strategies, and product placement decisions that enhance competitiveness and profitability.
Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to guide business decisions and inform executive management.
Represent the company at industry events, tastings, exhibitions, and client meetings to strengthen brand visibility and generate new business leads.
Drive cross-selling opportunities by leveraging synergies across QSR, fine dining, event catering, and pastry brands to maximize overall group revenue.
Train, mentor, and provide direction to sales teams or associates where necessary to ensure alignment with business objectives and sales targets.
Identify potential gaps in the sales pipeline and proactively implement solutions to prevent missed revenue opportunities.
Requirements & Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, business development, or key account management.
Experience across QSR, fine dining, catering, and pastry businesses is highly preferred.
Proven track record of achieving revenue growth and acquiring new clients.
Sales strategy development and execution.
Proposal development and client pitching.
Data-driven sales analysis and reporting.
Strong communication, relationship management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
