The accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making.
The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accepted standards and regulations.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including vendor reconciliation and invoice processing.
Oversee payroll processing, tax remittances, and statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.).
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closures.
Monitor cash flow, forecast financial trends, and advise management on cost optimization and revenue enhancement strategies.
Support audits (internal and external) and ensure full compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities as required.
Assist in budget preparation, performance analysis, and variance reporting.
Ensure accurate financial documentation and record-keeping for all transactions.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related discipline.
Student member of ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
2–5 years relevant experience, preferably in a hospital or health industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or Tally).
In-depth understanding of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS, and other statutory regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
