We are seeking an experienced Chinese Translator to join our team in a full-time, on-site position.
The ideal candidate must have a strong command of both Chinese and English, with the ability to accurately translate written documents and interpret spoken communication in both languages.
The candidate must be fluent in speaking, understanding, reading, and translating Chinese to facilitate effective communication between Chinese management and Nigerian staff.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate oral and written translations from Chinese to English and vice versa.
Interpret spoken communication during meetings and on-site interactions between Chinese management and Nigerian production staff.
Facilitate effective communication between the Head of the Production Department, Chinese management, and production workers.
Translate production documents, daily reports, work instructions, and technical materials.
Assist the Head of the Production Department in supervising daily activities at the factory site.
Monitor production activities and ensure workers understand and follow instructions from their supervisors.
Assist in communicating production targets, work schedules, and operational procedures to production staff.
Provide translation support during production meetings, technical training, and equipment operation instructions.
Help resolve communication gaps between Chinese supervisors and Nigerian workers to ensure smooth production operations.
Act as a cultural bridge between Chinese and Nigerian employees, promoting clear communication and mutual understanding.

Requirements

Interested candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree with 2 – 3 years of experience.
Proven experience in translation and interpretation, preferably in a mining, business or technical environment.
Fluent in both Chinese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Fluency in speaking and hearing Hausa is a plus
Experience studying or working in China is a plus
Should be responsible and have good management skills.
