The OGTL Rig Superintendent/Owner Representative serves as the senior onsite representative for the owner.
This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all rig operations and ensuring that drilling programs are executed with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
The successful candidate will manage onsite personnel and resources, acting as the primary point of contact for the owner and coordinating between various departments to meet operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and oversee all onsite rig operations to ensure alignment with the owner's objectives and drilling programs.
Ensure all activities are performed safely and efficiently, maintaining strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Manage and supervise onsite personnel, providing leadership and direction to rig crews and contractors.
Allocate and manage rig resources effectively to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Serve as the primary liaison between the rig site and shore-based management, providing regular progress reports and technical updates.
Monitor the technical performance of the rig and lead troubleshooting efforts for complex machinery or operational problems.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in marine engineering or rig management, typically with a background as a Chief Engineer or Technical Superintendent in offshore operations.
Deep knowledge of offshore support vessel types, drilling equipment, and rig maintenance systems.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multi-national and multi-disciplinary teams.
Relevant certifications such as BOSIET, STCW, and Advanced Fire Fighting; a Certificate of Competency (C.O.C) Class 1 Engine Unlimited is highly preferred.
Proven track record in project management, budget control, and regulatory compliance (Flag, Class, and Port State requirements).
