About the Job
The Country Kiln Coach is to guarantee efficiency and optimization of the burning line by working in conjunction with process, quality and maintenance team, and to improve plant performance by developing the Control Room Operators to mastery level of competency in VRM and kiln operations.
This is achieved through a continuous process of daily performance monitoring, evaluation and feedback, maintaining and improving the plant efficiency through analysis of specific process parameters and ensuring conformity with Safety, Environmental and Quality guidelines.
What you will be doing
Safety:
Applies and ensures application of Safety standards, advisories & procedures in all activities
Analyzes all process incidents and work with PCS to mitigate the impact of such incidents and propose solutions to prevent future reoccurrence
Monitors application of plant kiln system SOP’s
Coordinate the development of operational procedures (SOPs) for the execution of all production related tasks in the plants.
Industrial Learning & Development:
Coordination of the Training Session
Peruse trainees’ profile and structure syndicate group to optimize learning process.
Study Plant assessments to optimize the learning process.
Ensure that Software and Programs required are available on training computers. E.g.Cecil, simulator…
To prepare the production training calendar & road map.
Follow up logistics and requirements.
Implementation of Training Session:
Present Training Program for all production & process Eng. staff (CRO, Shift manager, patrollers) and conduct individual assessments.
Monitor Trainee’s activity during Program.
Conduct Coaching discussion before Trainee returns to home plant and clarify on the job assignments at home plant
Request Trainees to complete post training evaluation document and forward toCoordinator
Training center Follow Up:
Compile an individual Training report, on the job assignments, course evaluation document &forward the above to the training manager.
Monitor progress of the on job home plant assignments.
Evaluate & provide feedback re on the job assignments to Plants.
Assess final assignments & forward to CIP for moderation
Performance:
Helps Plant operators to achieve operational consistencies by:
Leading incident review analysis process with CCR operators & Kiln Coaches from time to time
Setting operational objectives from the operator incident review log data analysis
Reviewing, analyzing & optimizing Kiln tracking tool
Identifying the possible cause of process target deviations and gaps in optimum conditions.
Reviewing and analyzing the clinker / Cement quality control data on a frequent basis.▪ Reviewing and analyzing the raw mix preparation quality control data frequent basis.▪ Reviewing and analyzing shift downtime reports from the software (ADAP, etc)
Monitor and ensure plant operations are in compliance with environmental regulations.
Supports plant operators training and development by:
Follow up the implementation of the new Certification program for Kiln /cement millsCROs.
Implementing training and development needs of CCR operators and patrollers
Conducting effective one –on-one training activities when necessary
Making effective use of available training media for training delivery (CECIL + Produce & Maintain)
Developing an effective structured on the job training program (OJT)
Conducting effective group training activities & post training on job Coaching
Design and develop a training module.
Leading role in POM implementation.
Identify and train a capable successor within the time frame of 2-3 years.
Must be ready and attend to on 24/7 call duty in any of the Country plants
Specific Focus On CRO & Patrollers development
Follow up the implementation & support new certification programs for CROs & Patrollers.
Frequent reviews and follows up with operator actions relating to major process line control
Continuously monitors, gives feedback and coaches operators to produce quality at all stages of manufacturing process.
Plays a priority role as coach in CRO’s training, assessment, and certification process.
Communicates with operating personnel about process control.
Contributes to development, implementation and to keep update the plant productionSOPs and enforces a policy of strict adherence to their use.
Ensures alignment of Standard Operation Procedures with accepted control strategies and best practices.
Continuous improvement:
Regularly Participates in Operations incident analysis processes (RCA) and contributes to implementing recommendations & action plans.
Contributes directly to the optimization of automation systems such as QMC and LUCIE, and the evaluation of control loops.
Encourage the CRO’s to use actively tools like IP21, LUCIE, TIS and Auto Loops, etc.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical engineering as main subjects)
8 – 10 years' postgraduate experience; 3 – 5 years Kiln coach experience.
Certified Central Control Room Operator experience;
