Lead critical maintenance activities, planned shutdowns, major overhauls, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
Provide technical leadership to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of electrical maintenance activities.
Drive defect elimination and reliability improvement initiatives using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Provide hands-on field mentorship and structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) to technicians and maintenance planners.
Support maintenance planners in developing technically complete work packs.
Ensure correct job sequencing and switching procedures are followed.
Support accurate spare parts and material selection for maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules, switching procedures, permit requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Troubleshoot complex and recurring electrical faults and system failures.
Perform advanced fault diagnostics, insulation testing, load analysis, and thermographic inspections.
Ensure maintenance activities comply with IEC, IEEE, API, ANSI, NFPA 70E, and other applicable electrical standards.
Coordinate effectively with maintenance teams by providing clear technical guidance, instructions, and accurate maintenance reports.
Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence across electrical maintenance activities.
General Requirements
HND/B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in electrical maintenance within heavy industrial sectors, specifically Oil & Gas, Refineries, GTL, Petrochemical, or Chemical Plants.
Extensive exposure to complex, high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems in continuous process environments.
Proven expertise in diagnosing and rectifying complex electrical faults and system failures.
Deep understanding of electrical power distribution systems, switchgear (AIS/GIS), MCCs, transformers, UPS, and generators.
Strong working knowledge of protection and control systems, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), motors, and soft starters.
Familiarity with electrical standards such as IEC, IEEE, API, NFPA 70E, and hazardous area requirements.
Mandatory safety certifications including HSE, Permit to Work (PTW), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
CompEx or equivalent Hazardous Area certification is highly preferred.
COREN or equivalent professional registration is preferred.
OEM certifications (e.g., ABB, Schneider, Siemens, GE) are preferred.
