As Human Resource Officer, you are responsible for supporting the effective delivery of human resource services by coordinating day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle. The role ensures compliance with company policies and labour regulations while providing administrative and operational support in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, payroll administration, HR reporting, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities.
Screen applications and shortlist qualified candidates.
Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates.
Conduct reference and background checks.
Prepare offer letters and employment contracts.
Coordinate onboarding and induction programmes.
Maintain recruitment trackers and talent pipelines.
HR Administration
Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files.
Update the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
Prepare employment letters including confirmation, promotion, transfer, salary review, and disciplinary correspondence.
Maintain organizational charts and staff lists.
Manage employee documentation and filing systems.
Ensure confidentiality of employee information
Employee Relations
Support the resolution of employee concerns and grievances.
Assist in disciplinary processes and investigations.
Draft warning letters and disciplinary documentation.
Monitor employee attendance and punctuality.
Promote compliance with the Code of Conduct and HR policies.
Support employee wellness and engagement initiatives.
Performance Management
Coordinate the annual performance appraisal process.
Track probationary reviews and employee confirmations.
Support the implementation of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Monitor departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Prepare performance reports and analytics.
Learning and Development
Coordinate internal and external training programmes.
Maintain employee training records.
Monitor mandatory compliance training.
Evaluate training effectiveness.
Support the implementation of leadership development initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
Prepare monthly payroll inputs, including new hires, exits, promotions, salary adjustments, overtime, and allowances.
Administer employee leave and maintain leave records.
Coordinate statutory benefits such as pension NSITF, ITF, PAYE, and Group Life Insurance.
Support salary benchmarking and compensation reviews.
Assist in employee benefits administration.
HR Reporting and Analytics
Prepare monthly HR reports and dashboards.
Monitor headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment metrics, and employee demographics.
Generate reports for management and regulatory purposes.
Analyse workforce data to support decision-making.
Policy and Compliance
Ensure compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws and statutory requirements.
Assist in the development and review of HR policies and procedures.
Monitor compliance with internal HR policies.
Support internal and external audits.
Maintain accurate statutory records.
Employee Engagement
Coordinate employee engagement activities and recognition programmes.
Support staff communication initiatives.
Assist in organizing town hall meetings, wellness programmes, and employee events.
Promote the organization\'s culture and values.
Offboarding
Coordinate employee exit processes.
Conduct exit interviews.
Facilitate departmental clearance with IT, Finance, Administration, Security, and the employee\'s line manager.
Prepare final separation documentation.
Analyse exit interview trends and recommend improvements.
Compliance with statutory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
Membership or certification with CIPM or other recognized HR professional bodies
Experience
Minimum of 3–5years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
Experience in the healthcare industry is an added advantage.
