Job Summary
The Boilers Attendant – Field Operator is responsible for performing on-site operational tasks associated with the safe and efficient functioning of the boiler systems and their auxiliaries. The role includes monitoring parameters, conducting routine checks, adjusting valves and dampers, supporting boiler startups/shutdowns, and promptly reporting abnormalities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities.
Conduct hourly rounds to monitor equipment (boilers, feedwater pumps, air preheaters).
Check pressure, temperature, and flow values on local gauges and instruments.
Report deviations, leaks, abnormal noise, or vibration to the Supervisor.
Follow and assist in boiler startup, shutdown, blowdown, and soot blowing. Etc
Adjust valves, dampers, and fans as instructed by the DCS or Supervisor.
Ensure proper functioning of fuel feed and ash removal systems.
Give necessary operation feedback and instructions for the operation team.
Maintain field housekeeping around boiler equipment.
Record readings and observations in field logbooks.
Support emergency shutdowns and firefighting activities as needed.
Educational Qualification and Work Experience
Diploma or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Certification is an added advantage. (First or Second-Class Boiler Attendant Certificate preferable).
Minimum 10 years in field operations of boiler systems in cogeneration or thermal power plants.
