The Pharmacist Technician is responsible for performing technical and administrative tasks to support the licensed Pharmacist in delivering efficient and safe pharmacy services.
This role involves processing and compounding prescriptions under supervision, managing inventory controls, and ensuring accuracy in dispensing.
The ideal candidate will combine strong organizational skills and attention to detail with an understanding of retail pharmacy operations, wellness products, and cosmetics to maintain an efficient workflow and high standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, count, label, and package prescription medications accurately for the Pharmacist to verify.
Maintain complete and accurate patient profiles, processing prescriptions through the pharmacy's data systems.
Manage stock levels, monitor expiration dates, and oversee the proper storage of pharmaceuticals, wellness products, and cosmetics.
Assist in ordering, receiving, and organizing inventory, ensuring a seamless supply chain within the pharmacy.
Provide professional customer service, handling non-clinical inquiries and processing point-of-sale transactions.
Support the pharmacy's digital footprint and community outreach efforts via social media platforms where required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in alignment with healthcare regulations and standards.
Requirements
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential or a Diploma in Pharmacy Technician Studies from a recognized institution.
Valid registration/license with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Pharmacists Council of Nigeria).
Proven experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a community or retail pharmacy setting.
Strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical terms, calculations, and dispensing protocols.
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
High level of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a structured framework.
Familiarity with retail pharmacy software, wellness products, and cosmetics is a distinct advantage.
Digital literacy and comfort with social media tools is an added advantage.
Proximity to the pharmacy location is highly preferred.
