Position Overview
We are looking for a Medical Clinic Assistant to join our team at our East York location (M4G 3C1). This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive compensation of $30.50 per hour for 32 to 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Clinic Assistant at Vision EyeCare Centre, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare professionals and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting health care professionals with patient care, cleaning and maintaining equipment, preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring all clinical areas are clean and properly maintained.
Clinical Support Duties
You will be responsible for maintaining inventory of equipment, preparing and maintaining cleanliness of collection areas, and processing files and paperwork. Additionally, you will take patients’ general medical and ophthalmic history, which requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Your role will be vital in ensuring that our clinic operates efficiently and that patient care remains our top priority.
Administrative Functions
The Medical Clinic Assistant position also includes significant administrative responsibilities. You will manage routine office functions including reception duties, answering telephone inquiries, and booking appointments. You will schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring that our patients receive timely care and that our healthcare providers’ schedules are optimized for efficiency.
Supply Management
Another key aspect of this role involves ordering supplies and equipment, as well as organizing and maintaining inventory. You will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary clinical supplies are available when needed, and for maintaining accurate inventory records. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, MS Windows, and MS Word. While specific education requirements are not specified, candidates should have a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures. Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting would be considered an asset.
