Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Trades Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Material Handling and Transportation
Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials to and from job sites. You will be responsible for ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently to maintain workflow and prevent damage.
Equipment Operation
Operating various types of construction equipment including mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, and place equipment and materials. You will also be trained to operate pile driving cranes for foundation work.
Inspection and Safety
Performing pre-operational inspections on equipment and machinery to ensure they are functioning properly and safely. You will also assist in maintaining a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards and following safety protocols.
Structural Construction
Erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades. You will assist in framing houses, erecting walls, building roofs, and aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
Site Preparation and Cleanup
Leveling earth to meet fine grade specifications, paving and raking asphalt, and cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants. You will also remove rubble and debris from construction sites to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Additional Duties
Assisting medical examiners when needed, performing routine maintenance work, tending to or feeding machines and equipment, and directing traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safety and proper flow of vehicles and pedestrians.
Qualifications and Requirements
