Job Overview
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Welder Helpers. This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive compensation and excellent benefits. The role is based on-site in Iqaluit, NUX0A 0H0, and requires working during early morning, morning, night, and weekend shifts.
Position Details
The Welder Helper position is a vital role within our metal fabrication department. Key Responsibilities
As a Welder Helper, your primary responsibilities will include operating metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from surfaces of metal products. This attention to detail ensures that all finished products meet our quality standards before reaching the final stages of production.
Material Handling
You will be responsible for transporting raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually. This requires physical strength and stamina, as well as knowledge of proper lifting techniques to prevent injury and damage to materials.
Assisting Metal Workers
A significant part of your role will involve assisting structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, and other metal workers. You will support them with various tasks to ensure smooth workflow and production efficiency.
Quality Control
Maintaining quality standards is crucial in our operations. You will be expected to inspect work for quality and report any issues to the supervisory staff. This attention to detail helps prevent costly mistakes and ensures customer satisfaction.
Equipment Maintenance
You will assist in the maintenance and proper care of equipment used in the metalworking process. This includes cleaning, minor repairs, and reporting any equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team promptly.
