We offer an immersive educational experience aimed at equipping students with the creative, technical, and business skills required to excel in the dynamic world of interior design.Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging, practical lesson plans covering window treatments (curtains, drapes, blinds, shades, valances) and soft furnishings (cushions, pillows, bedding, throws, table runners, and light upholstery).
Hands-on Studio Training: Teach students technical skills including taking accurate site measurements, calculating fabric yardage, pattern matching, cutting, and construction/sewing techniques.
Textile & Material Guidance: Educate students on fabric properties, weights, lining options, and how different textiles behave in various design applications.
Technical & Installation Instruction: Instruct students on window hardware selection, track systems, installation safety, and modern trends like motorized/smart window automation.
Student Assessment: Evaluate and grade student studio projects, presentations, and practical assignments, providing constructive, professional feedback to encourage growth.
Mentorship & Business Insights: Guide students on the commercial aspects of the craft, including client consultations, vendor sourcing, manufacturing management, and project budgeting.
Excursions & Site Visits: Coordinate and lead practical market surveys or visits to textile hubs and vendor showrooms to enrich the student learning experience.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: A degree, diploma, or advanced certification in Interior Design, Textile Design, Fashion/Apparel Design, or a closely related field. Exceptional, verifiable industry experience will also be highly considered.
Experience: 3–5 years of active professional experience in interior styling, soft furnishing production, or bespoke curtain manufacturing, backed by a strong portfolio.
Teaching/Facilitation Ability: Previous experience as an instructor, trainer, or mentor is highly desirable. Must be capable of breaking down complex textile math and technical sewing/installation steps for beginners.
Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of soft styling, sewing machinery, pattern drafting, fabric specifications, and structural hardware.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, public speaking, patience, and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse classroom environment.
