Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Application Development Director to lead our IT development team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive annual salary of $250,000. The role is based at our Calgary office (T2E 7H7) and requires on-site presence. Position Summary
As our Application Development Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept to deployment and maintenance. You will lead a team of 5-10 professionals across various IT disciplines, ensuring that all projects align with our strategic objectives while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services. You will direct and control daily operations, evaluate ongoing activities, and plan and organize daily operations to maximize productivity. The role requires you to plan and control budget and expenditures, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints while delivering exceptional results.
Leadership Duties
You will supervise staff, providing guidance and mentorship to team members. Training staff will be a crucial aspect of your role, as you develop the skills and capabilities of your team members to meet evolving technological challenges. Additionally, you will authorize the development of specifications for products or services, ensuring that all technical solutions meet organizational needs.
Strategic Direction
As a director-level position, you will contribute to the strategic direction of our IT department. This involves making critical decisions about technology adoption, resource allocation, and long-term planning. You will work closely with executive leadership to ensure that our development initiatives align with overall business objectives and market demands.
