Job Summary
Senior CT and MRI Radiographer position available at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 37.5 hours per week in the Radiology department. Main Duties of the Job
As a Senior CT and MRI Radiographer at our Derby Hospital, you will deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload. You must be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice and responsible for MRI Safety in line with local rules.
You will work within IRMER and your own scope of practice in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC. Participating in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programmes is essential, along with providing support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.
Ensuring equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health Policy is a critical responsibility. You will provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and comply with all Nuffield Health policies and procedures.
Person Specification
As a Senior CT and MRI Radiographer at our Derby Hospital, you’ll have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and high levels of technical knowledge. Ideally, you’ll also have Radiation Protection Supervisor training and qualification, as well as the ability to work accurately and compassionately.
You should have a postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge and experience. Experience with a wide variety of MRI and CT scans, including Cardiac MRI and/or Cardiac CT is desirable. Experience with GE MRI and GE CT scanners is also desirable.
An understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike is essential. You must be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors. The ability to supervise and develop junior colleagues is an important aspect of this role.
Required Skills and Attributes
You must ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion. Demonstrating excellent communication and teamwork abilities is crucial. Having a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work will set you apart in this role.
Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential. You should be able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within the healthcare team. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records are important skills for this position.
