The Gender Specialist will drive gender inclusion and women’s empowerment within the Noiler Business Model.
The role focuses on increasing women’s participation as Mother Units (MUs) and Small Holder Farmers (SHFs), ensuring equitable access to resources, and integrating gender-responsive strategies into all field operations.
Job Purpose
To design, implement, and monitor gender-focused initiatives that enhance the participation, productivity, and economic empowerment of women within the Noiler value chain.
The role will ensure that gender considerations are embedded in farmer recruitment, training, engagement, and overall business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Gender Strategy & Implementation:
Develop and implement gender inclusion strategies aligned with the Noiler Business Model
Integrate gender perspectives into all farmer engagement, recruitment, and training activities
Ensure gender-responsive planning across all assigned territories
Women Empowerment & Inclusion:
Drive the recruitment of rural women as Mother Units (MUs) and Small Holder Farmers (SHFs)
Identify barriers limiting women’s participation and develop solutions to address them
Promote equal access to resources, training, and market opportunities.
Training & Capacity Building:
Design and deliver gender-sensitive training programs for field teams and farmers
Build the capacity of staff on gender mainstreaming and inclusive practices
Support women farmers with skills development to improve productivity and income.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting:
Develop gender-sensitive indicators to track program performance
Monitor and evaluate the impact of gender initiatives across communities
Prepare regular reports on gender inclusion metrics and outcomes.
Community Engagement & Advocacy:
Engage community leaders, women groups, and stakeholders to promote gender inclusion
Conduct sensitization campaigns to address cultural and social barriers
Facilitate community dialogues to encourage women’s participation in the Noiler program.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Management:
Identify and collaborate with NGOs, development partners, and government agencies focused on gender and rural development
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance program impact.
Policy & Compliance:
Ensure alignment with organizational gender policies and international best practices
Provide advisory support to management on gender-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, Agriculture, or related field
Master’s degree is an added advantage
Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in gender programming, rural development, or agriculture
Proven experience working with women in rural or underserved communities
Experience in donor-funded or development projects is an added advantage.
