Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and committed Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join their Bexley Community Neurorehabilitation Team. Location and Working Pattern
The position is based at Queen Marys Hospital in Sidcup, within the London Borough of Bexley. This is a vibrant area of Southeast London with excellent transport links to the city center. The role involves 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with rostered weekend working every 5-6 weeks. The Trust supports working from home and offers flexible working arrangements, providing a healthy work-life balance for international relocating professionals.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist in Neuro Rehabilitation, you will provide specialist neurological OT assessment and treatment to clients presenting with highly complex neurological conditions including Stroke, MND (Motor Neurone Disease), MS (Multiple Sclerosis), Head Injury, and Parkinson’s. You will work with specialist nurses and other healthcare practitioners to manage patients with long-term neurological conditions.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide specialist occupational therapy input to clients as part of the Community Neurorehabilitation service
- Be responsible and accountable for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a variety of conditions including complex cases
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge levels and skills in neurology conditions and interventions
- Assess for and provide equipment to enhance independence in daily living skills for service users
- Monitor, review and continually re-assess clients’ complex care plans against outcome measures
Professional Development
The service encourages continued professional development with in-service training within the Neurorehabilitation team and quarterly professional peer supervision. This post offers opportunities to develop supervisory skills by being responsible for Band 5 OTs, therapy assistants, and student OTs as required. You will work closely with colleagues in the South East London sector and contribute to the team’s development in line with the Neuro Core offer.

- Degree or Masters in Occupational Therapy
