Job Responsibilities
As a Dental Technician at YUKON DENTISTRY, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing various dental appliances including crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontic devices. Your duties will involve working with dentists to create customized dental solutions that meet patient needs, ensuring all appliances meet exact specifications and quality standards. You will operate specialized equipment, maintain accurate records of all dental work performed, and adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards.
Daily Tasks and Expectations
Your daily responsibilities will include examining dental impressions and prescriptions to determine the required specifications for dental appliances, creating wax models of replacement dental pieces, and molding materials to create precise dental prosthetics. You will be expected to use various materials such as plastics, waxes, alloys, and porcelain to create dental appliances, and to adjust and polish finished pieces to ensure proper fit and function. Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly wage of $25.50 CAD for this full-time position, with a schedule of 70 hours bi-weekly. In addition to your regular salary, YUKON DENTISTRY provides a comprehensive benefits package including dental plan coverage, health care benefits, and vision care benefits. As a permanent employee, you will be eligible for extended health benefits that cover prescription medications, paramedical services, and other healthcare needs not covered by provincial healthcare plans.
Work Schedule and Hours
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 70 hours bi-weekly. While specific daily hours will be determined based on operational needs, we typically offer daytime Monday to Friday schedules with occasional flexibility for special projects or urgent cases. As a member of our team, you will have input into your schedule preferences while ensuring coverage of laboratory operations. Required Qualifications
Applicants for this position must possess formal education and training as a Dental Technician from an accredited institution. Certification as a Dental Technician is required, and preference will be given to candidates with Canadian certification or equivalent international qualifications that are recognized in Canada. A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a dental laboratory setting is preferred, particularly experience with digital dentistry technologies and various dental materials including ceramics, alloys, and composites.

Experience with CAD/CAM systems for digital design of dental prosthetics is highly desirable.
