Location Details

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $17.60 per hour with guaranteed minimum wage compliance. This position includes 30 to 40 hours of work per week, providing stability and consistent income. Additionally, our compensation package includes commission-based earnings and gratuities, allowing you to increase your earning potential based on your performance and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess a valid Hairstylist License. This certification is required to practice as a hairstylist in Ontario and demonstrates your professional training and expertise. Essential Experience

We are looking for candidates with proven experience in various hair styling techniques, including blow drying, iron waving/curling, permanents, roller setting, bleaching, dyeing/tinting, frosting, and streaking/highlights. Your experience should demonstrate versatility and the ability to create a wide range of hairstyles to meet diverse client needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Hairstylist at First Choice Haircutters, your responsibilities will include booking client appointments, cutting and trimming hair according to client instructions or preferences, shampooing customers’ hair, and shaving and trimming beards and mustaches. You will also provide various hair treatments such as waving, straightening, and tinting, along with scalp conditioning massages.

Technical Hair Services

You will apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to color, frost, or streak hair, creating beautiful and personalized looks for clients. Your technical skills will be essential in cutting, trimming, tapering, curling, waving, perming, and styling hair to achieve the desired outcomes. These services require precision, creativity, and attention to detail.

Client Consultations

A key aspect of your role will be suggesting hairstyles that are compatible with clients’ physical features and preferences. This requires excellent communication skills, a good eye for aesthetics, and the ability to understand and interpret client desires. Your ability to provide professional recommendations will significantly enhance client satisfaction.

Reception Duties

In addition to providing hair services, you will be responsible for performing receptionist duties. This includes greeting clients, managing appointments, handling payments, maintaining a clean and organized salon environment, and ensuring smooth operations during your shift.
