Required Qualifications
To be considered for this truck driver position, you must possess a valid Class 1 or A Driver’s License and an Air Brakes Endorsement. Key Responsibilities
As a truck driver with Superking Transportation Ltd., you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials throughout British Columbia and potentially across international borders. Your duties will include operating straight or articulated trucks, loading and unloading cargo, and ensuring the security and proper handling of all transported goods. Vehicle Operations
Your primary responsibility will be the safe operation of commercial trucks. This includes performing thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the vehicle’s condition, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage equipment, and other mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure safe transportation.
Cargo Handling
Proper cargo handling is essential in this role. You will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, tarping cargo to protect it from weather elements, and ensuring the safety and security of all transported items. For specialized shipments, you may need to handle dangerous goods according to strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Maintenance and Repairs
Our truck drivers are expected to perform basic maintenance tasks and emergency roadside repairs when needed. This includes brake adjustments, preventative maintenance checks, and addressing minor mechanical issues to keep vehicles operational. While our maintenance team provides support, your ability to handle basic repairs on the road is valuable for maintaining our delivery schedules.
Administrative Duties
In addition to driving responsibilities, you’ll need to maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption. You’ll also be responsible for arranging travel, related itineraries, and making reservations as needed. These administrative tasks ensure compliance with transportation regulations and help optimize our operations.
Documentation and Compliance
Transporting cargo, especially on international routes, requires proper documentation and permits.
